Building upon the foundations of the former "Kelowna Pride" program started in 1989, Parks Alive! was founded by the City of Kelowna in 1997. Developed and produced by Festivals Kelowna, Parks Alive! presents live concerts and other arts-based activities throughout July and August in many of Kelowna's most unique outdoor venues from North Glenmore, to Rutland, East Kelowna, downtown, the Mission, Kettle Valley, and Black Mountain.

Parks Alive! will produce 47 concert events each year, primarily in the summer months,  throughout many of Kelowna’s parks and public spaces. Entertainment is family-friendly and suitable for people of all ages and tastes. Performers range from local artists to world-class professionals, performing in a variety of musical genres and styles.
